Artist Statement

My work as a printmaker is deeply rooted in the exploration of nature’s hidden beauties, particularly the intricate details of Australian flora and fauna. I am captivated by the delicate balance of life, the unseen, and the often-overlooked aspects of the natural world. Through my art, I aim to bring these elements to the forefront, allowing them to be appreciated and celebrated in new ways.

The suspense and surprise inherent in the collagraph printmaking process are central to my creative practice. Each run of the plate through the press holds the potential for unexpected outcomes, which fuels my curiosity and excitement for the medium. This sense of discovery is what drives me to experiment with various printmaking techniques, combining them to create complex and richly layered mixed media prints.

I approach each piece as an opportunity to blend traditional printmaking with contemporary influences, infusing my work with a playful and multicultural twist. My art is a reflection of my diverse background and experiences, bringing together different elements to create something entirely new and unique.

In my jewellery collection, “Bindu,” I extend my artistic vision beyond printmaking. The pieces in this collection are not just accessories; they are small works of art that carry the same attention to detail and cultural richness found in my prints. Each piece is a celebration of form, texture, and the beauty of the materials I work with, making them both personal and universal in their appeal.

Through my art, I hope to inspire a deeper appreciation for the natural world and the diverse cultural threads that weave through our lives. My work is an invitation to see the world through a different lens, to find joy in the details, and to embrace the unexpected.
